Mrs. Carnie @ CMHS

"OH, THE PLACES WE WILL GO!"

A little info about me...

I am the youngest of three girls, and I grew up in Shreveport. I went to Riverside Elementary, Youree Drive Middle School, and CADDO PARISH MAGNET HIGH SCHOOL! I graduated in 1988, and our former principal was my 10th grade English teacher here at CMHS. CMHS is my home, and I am extremely proud to work here.

I have a B.A. in English Education from Louisiana Tech University. My Masters degree from Centenary College is in Secondary School Administration. I have my Reading Specialist certification, my + 30, and I am a National Board Certified teacher.

I began teaching at Magnet in 1992, and I taught here until 2000. I left to pursue other career opportunities, came back into the Caddo system in 2006 and worked in Professional Development until 2010. I returned to CMHS in the fall of 2010, and I love working here.

I am married to Brian, who is a Labor & Employment attorney at Kean Miller, LLC. We have a 4 year old daughter, Mobley. (We have her my maiden name in order to keep the family name going...) To round out our little family, we have a precious tiny little Shih Tzu, Nola.

I LOVE to read. My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. A close second to that is A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle. I have a special story about that. Stay tuned. Another favorite book in Dr. Seuss’ Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

In my very limited spare time, I love to spend time with my family, needlepoint, garden, and read.
